About

Eyewear made of recycled skateboards.

Detailed Description:
These eyewear has the potential to change vision of the product in the eyewear industries. An alternative way of thinking what we're wearing and where it came from. Form/Impact/Context

Form
The Vuerich Brothers eyewear are light, around 25 to 30 grams each. They are recycled from skateboards which are constructed with seven ply cross laminated of Canadian maple. They usually have graphics on the bottom. They have a really good ratio of resistance and flexibility. It is defined in the deck the parts most suitable for the manufacture of arms and glasses frames. They are cut, they are sculpted to obtain the forms and qualities most suitable for the manufacture of spectacles. Each glass is unique and colorful. We had also developed a hinged wooden high mechanical strength, and a completely biodegradable packaging.

Impact
Unlike synthetic petrochemical derivatives. These sunglasses just requires more skateboarders. By collecting plates in different skate shops and even on the street directly, the energy required to manufacture them is largely reduced. We nurture the hope inside that the effect can rise beyond the simple act of buying but by its aesthetic appearance may raise deeper questions deal with future environmental challenges in everyday life.

Context
Create connections between different environments using recycled materials derived from an urban activity to a new form of design in the middle of the optical design, to open new prospects for the manufacturing method.
